Shift Key Constraints

Use the Shift Key with Fixed Distance vs Interactive
WildTools carries the concept of using the Shift key for constraints and unconstraints one step further. For example, with the Offset Line tool, the tool can operate with a fixed offset (say 2") or interactive, in which case the offset is determined by the cursor.

Arrow for interactive, equal sign for fixed offset

Thus when you use the tool set to interactive, the offset is set by the position of the cursor, and the Shift key constrains the offset the setting for the tool.

Constraining the offset with the Shift key.

And if the tool is set up for a fixed offset, then the Shift key breaks the constraint and allows for an interactive offset. As with snap angles, it reverses the setting.

WildTools is an extra-cost add-on to PowerCADD. The features described for WildTools are only available if you purchase WildTools in addition to PowerCADD.
