Moving & Resizing Objects

Moving Selected Objects
Once objects are selected, you can click on them and move them with the selection cursor.

Resizing Objects
You can click in a handle of an object to resize it.

Move 'Slick and Quick'
Often you will want to grab an object by the corner and move it, but there is a problem. If you click on the object, you will select it, and then if you click in the handle you will resize it--and you don't want to do that.

Select and move an object in a single operation.

PowerCADD has a very nice way of handling this situation. Move the cursor over the object, click and then drag in the direction that you want to move the object. This lets you select and move an object in a single operation.

"PowerCADD has all the features of the best programs, plus a lot more, yet is stunningly easy to use.Parts of it are so slick a walrus would fall down."

Using Vertex Snap to Grab Selected Objects
Sometimes you will want to move selected objects, but you can't grab the object by a corner because you'd be in a handle. That would cause the object to stretch, and you don't want that to happen.

Asking for vertex snap to grab the objects for a move to 'get around' the handle.

So you move the cursor just outside the handle, press the V key to ask for a vertex snap, click and drag to move the objects. This allows you to grab the objects by the corner to move them.

Nudging Objects
You may use the arrow keys to nudge selected objects.

You can set the nudge distance in the Status window

The Status window also 'remembers' your most recent nudge settings, and you can select them again with a popup menu. The Status window is a floating window and thus can be available for use all the time.

The Move Window
You can also use PowerCADD's Move window to move selected objects.
