Design Your Own Pen and Fill Patterns

Black and white pen and fill patterns.
PowerCADD comes with a number of standard patterns that can be used for with lines or to fill objects such as rectangles. Typically, you would think of these as black and white patterns, as shown above.

Pen and fill patterns can be given colors.
However if you give the objects fill or pen colors, then these are patterns of those colors.

Multi-colored patterns can be used for textures.
But the real power comes with the ability to create patterns that are patterns of different colors. These allow you to create the types of textures shown above.
To edit these, you select Pattern... from the Attribute menu, and the following dialog appears:

Edit the pattern and choose which ones will appear in your menu.
In this dialog, you can edit or create the patterns that you want.

Patterns for green-yellow stripes, brick, stone and grass.
Here is an example of a drawing produced with multi-colored patterns for the awnings, brick, stone and grass patterns. The shadows were created by putting a hatch pattern over the objects in the drawing.

Patterns for textures.
And they are marvelous for creating color illustrations and landscape plans.
If you're like most people, you won't want to go to the trouble of creating these patterns. These are already available in the Color Portfolio library available from Engineered Software.
