Scanned Images

Trace Your Maps
It's a simple matter to scan a map and then trace it in PowerCADD.

Trace the scanned image, then turn off the artwork layer to see the results.

In this case, the original map was scanned as a grey-scale image and placed on a separate layer. The WildTools Pen tool was used to trace the contour lines.

When you turn off the layer with the scanned image on it, then you only see the line drawing.

WildTools is an extra-cost add-on to PowerCADD. The features described for WildTools are only available if you purchase WildTools in addition to PowerCADD.

Double-Precision Accuracy
And for those special jobs that require real precision, remember that PowerCADD offers 64-bit double-precision accuracy, and you can zoom in very close when tracing a scanned image.

Trace with real accuracy.
