Dynamic Snapping
Dynamic snapping allows you to specify the type of snap that will
be performed. The letter in the indicator is also the key that's
used to ask for the snap. 'V' indicates a vertex snap, and that
means that if you want to ask for a vertex snap, you will press
the 'V' key.

Indicator letters for the snaps are also the command keys for
those snaps.
Here are all of the types of snaps. So, if you want an intersection snap, you press the 'X' key. If you want a tangent snap, you press the 'T' key. And so forth.

The Snap Locator is a small red square.
To find a center snap, place the cursor close to an object and press the 'C' key. When the center is found, the 'C' in the Dynamic Snap Indicator will light up, and the Snap Locator will appear as a small red square to show the location.
All the snaps work like this. You ask for a snap by pressing the snap command key, and when the snap is found, the Dynamic Snap indicator lights up and the Snap Locator will show the location.

Vertex snap points.
Vertex snap allows you to snap to the vertices of objects. Vertices are line end points, vertices of polygons, top, right, bottom and left extremes of circles and ellipses, arc end points, etc.
Now, let's put this into action....
