Obik At the heart of a 7,000 square foot office fit-out for the hightech consulting company Obik is this conference/Media room. The company's logo of a puzzle piece is indicative of the sense of play in finding solutions. Their spirit of working together to "find the-right-fit and their unconventional sense of play at work, is captured in the design in this puzzle piece "hut". |

Jordan Court Jordan Court is an in-fill development study intended to maximize the properties's development potential and still maintain harmony with the existing bayside community. Ocean Ave was in its day the grand residential boulevard leading from the train station to the Freeport Canal and the Great South Bay beyond. Grand scaled summer and year-round homes marched along an elegant tree-lined street. Many of these "grand ladies" fell into disrepair, and others were demolished. The one remaining house on this property was converted into a hospital, with a large, 1950's vintage "addition" taking up three-quarters of the site. The existing house is to be restored and its carriagehouse turned into an apartment unit. Its additions are to be torn away and replaced with a series of new houses, with contemporary plans yet with elevations and details that echo the surrounding turn-of-the-century homes. These were developed as double and triple units, with garage and carriagehouse apartments. The goal is to match the noble massing of the historic homes and to attain the desired density both from the developer's and planner's standpoint. |
