Erik used PowerCADD and Form*Z for this rendering. Most of my renderings are raytraced in Form*Z RenderZone, then touched up in Photoshop (for adding sky, people, and trees). The Form*Z models are built using base drawings imported from PowerCADD. I do all of my 2D work in PowerCADD and import elements as necessary into Form*Z for extrusion, etc. Typically, I'm constantly switching back and forth between the two packages and filling up my hard drive with lots of .dwg's of PowerCADD elements. For example, I'll use the wavy line tool to generate a 2D corrugated metal ceiling finish for the Library or the County Gym, save the line as a dwg and import it into Form*Z where it can be extruded. The only downside to this method is that the PowerCADD drawings must be absolutely "clean". All polygons must be closed, all elements should be snapped to a grid module, etc. 3D modeling is less forgiving than most 2D drafting. Erik Mar |
