The Canoga Park Library and this East Valley ASC have both received design awards from the City of LA Department of Cultural Affairs, which is an aesthetic oversight committee whose approval is required for a building permit for any any project receiving public monies built in the City of LA. Every year, they select six or so projects of the hundreds they review for recognition.

The Chinatown Library has been nominated for a design award by the Downtown Breakfast Club, an association of politicians and business leaders who apparently work to improve the Downtown Business District. Also nominated are Frank Gehry's Walt Disney Concert Hall, Rafael Moneo's Cathedral, and Koening Eizenberg's Standard Hotel remodel.
