Walker/Warner Architects has been using PowerCADD with WildTools for over five years and have found them to be excellent tools for the production of not only our working drawings but for presentation boards for clients and agencies as well. Each new member of our office, after a brief tutorial, is able to be up and drawing confidently in a matter of days which speaks to the ease of use of this program. After that, most users discover the surprising depth of the program as well as the myriad ways to utilize the software.
An important consideration for us is the ability to share our drawings with consultants using AutoCAD as well as importing plans, sections and detail drawings into form-Z to generate 3D models. Engineered Software has put this issue to rest by developing PowerDWG, making the transfer of files relatively painless. In addition, we have taken full advantage of the ability to import pict files into our drawings and also export to Photoshop.
One last feather in the cap is the daily communication in the Design Community forum between the developers of both PowerCADD and WildTools and the users themselves. This spirited exchange of development ideas, trouble-shooting and helpful tips makes great use of the Internet in guiding the further development of the program.
