Detail 1. Part of the details for one of the many concrete and granite water features on the project.

Detail 2. Enlarged details of one water feature shown in Detail 1.

Detail 3. Hard landscape detailing for the water features and concrete work is coordinated with structural engineers, typically by issuing DWG files using PowerDWG of the concrete profiles. Mechanical schematics are completed in PowerCADD.

The original poster we submitted to the CSLA 2001 awards was prepared in PowerCADD. The entry requirments are strict with respect to sheet sizes and layout so we mockup the boards in PowerCADD. This finished board is just slightly smaller than 36 x 48 inches and contains photographs from digital cameras, scans, photoCD and PowerCADD renderings. While any image adjustments are made in Photoshop to each image, we combine it all in PowerCADD. This is a collection of multiple images of different resolutions (ie 72, 144, 288 dpi) which cannot be done in Photoshop! Of course, we also overlay text and perform final cropping and printing (in fact all posters, reductions and PDF files were created from the original PowerCADD photo board).

This is a photo at full size (shown at 1:1 print size) of one image. If you look closely you'll notice the 'snippets' of working drawings are of this area including the granite and concrete water feature in the centre of this image...

To those wondering just what can be done in PowerCADD, take a serious look at this stuff and if all this content, created in PowerCADD, isn't enough to convince you of its broad range of capabilities, just remember: PowerCADD was also used to make the jpeg files you're seeing on these web page! Let's see any other CADD application anywhere do this, and do it all so well.

If you'd like to learn more about this project, stop by Durante Kreuk Ltd's web site and visit our awards section where you can download a PDF file containing a complete project description and poster in PDF format.

And just to be clear... a project of this magnitude is a team effort and the entire staff at Durante Kreuk Ltd all contributed to different components of this project. I was just fortunate enough to be involved in some of the splashy graphics and knew whose chains to rattle to get this stuff posted!
