Winfield Robbins Gardens Master Plan, Arlington, MA, Pat Loheed, Rosalie Johnson, Juli Riemenschneider

This master plan effort in 1998 resulted in a commitment by the Town to implement a 1.4 million dollar historic landscape restoration plan of the Olmsted Office designed gardens. The illustrative base map was used to show existing conditions, priorities for repair for vegetation, infrastructure, monuments, circulation, and phasing. In 2002 we are just bidding phases 4 and 5 for repair of masonry and landscape. The final projects will be lighting and brick walkway restoration. The Town expects to complete its ten-year plan on time. These same base maps will be utilized for ongoing maintenance operations that will be bid out this upcoming year, so that tree pruning and periodic cleanouts are accomplished on a rotating basis.
