This is a typical project of mine. The exterior elevation shows how the existing 1960's ranch-style house was updated and expanded. The Design Workshop models were created by exporting my PowerCADD floor plans into Design Workshop, then extruding the walls up and adding a roof. The models were used to explain the spaces to a client that had a hard time visualizing spatial relationships between rooms and how the exterior of the building would look. (I learned to use Design Workshop while doing this model, again teaching myself while working on billable time ­ there are few things nicer than being taught to learn!) The construction drawings are a typical set of my plans for a residential project. Patrick Marr
