Jacques Pochoy
Architect D.P.L.G - Urban Planner

This map of Papeete, Tahiti, has a very long list of layers,
which allow me to show the project as a 'slide show'.

Urban planning and landscape architecture often goes with the 'mapping' concept. Because of differents drawbacks (usually military ones) it's quite hard to get access at a proper price of big 'chunks' of countries in a digital format. Here again I usually toggle between bitmap and vector drawings.

The layers sheets capability is a very good way to explain your work, as you can step through your own 'slide show'. And the Clipping and Union tools are quite welcome to get proper boundaries without overlapping.

A finished plan

A scanned map combined with colored hatching gives the drawing the feeling of a transparency.

the re-use of the old landing strip, showing the project and the site analysis.
