The maps in these files are screenshots from EarthDesk, which is a great desktop program that tracks both the sun and moon in real time, and can be oriented at will to any location on earth. The attached drawings are part of a series of illustrations for a course I will be teaching this fall at the Boston Architectural Center (as part of a new degree program in Landscape Architecture being organized by Pat Loheed). The course is called "The Art of Settlement" (TAOS) and will deal with design issues of future settlements with respect to both Cultural Evolution and Natural Systems. The images will be used as projections in class, as well as being posted to the TAOS web site (being built over the summer). |
