Presentation Graphics



  This drawing of the Franklin Park Zoo at Peabody Circle in Boston looks like a perspective drawing, but it isn't. Instead, it's a scaled axonometric drawing made possible with the new axonometric scaling feature of WildTools 3D (which you can only get to via SketchTools!). In a few seconds, Phil and Pat Loheed converted the orthogonal plan view into a scaled axonometric drawing. The result is a perspective viewed from an infinite distance.  

  They sheared the layer of trees to locate the trees and then left the sheared trees as 'shadows'.  

  There are four potential designs of the center circle, one showing the orginal Olmsted design, another with elephants as shown above, etc. and each of these is handled as a separate layer sheet in PowerCADD, making it easy to show all four designs with the same drawing.  

  Here's the entrance to the Franklin Park and the zoo. Note that even the street lights have shadows. The buildings were extruded using WildTools 3D.
