Liquid sulfide dioxide is more commonly known as sulfuric acid. Stebbins designs and builds the sulfur burners, piping, primary and secondary cooling towers, sulfur melting tanks and molten sulfur storage tanks.

Construction details for HCL absorption tower

A section of a HCL absorption tower. Hydrochloric Acid is recovered from a high temperature gas stream through a series of packed ceramic beds and countercurrent liquid washes supported on one or more brick arches. The steel shell is protected from the extremely corrosive environment by STEBBINS' FURAGLAS '27' membrane, SCI acid brick and AR-20C mortar.

Refractory lined columns

In this application, a brick material is installed inside the steel column to protect the steel from heat. Stebbins designed and installed the lining.

This is a duct to handle flue gas from a coal-fired boiler used to make steam in an Ontario power plant. Stebbins designed and installed the line of the duct.
