I think what we like most about PowerCADD at the office is its very small learning curve. We've had people productively drawing on PowerCADD in a week even though they may never have laid eyes on the software before. Even if they come from an AutoCAD environment previously, they are impressed at how easy it is to learn. Our interior designers use PowerCADD to layout intricate floor tile patterns for entire buildings that may be over 200,000 square feet. But because what you see printed out of PowerCADD looks like what you see on the screen, it makes things easy to do. That is what I think makes PowerCADD so pleasant to work with. It is like drawing on a piece of paper, you see what you are drawing. Things with PowerCADD 6 are even so much better in that way, the use of Quartz from Mac OS X makes the entire user experience even better.

PowerCADD has powerful drawing tools hiding beneath the pleasant interface. We work with a lot of consultants on AutoCAD and even within our firm we use AutoCAD, but PowerCADD and WildTools provide us with what we need to work very well on multiple platforms. We also use PowerCADD with FormZ to generate some stunning 3-D visualization. Because it is so quick to get ideas down with PowerCADD we can generate elevations and floor plans quickly we bring them into FormZ and within a couple hours we have some very nice finished quality images to show clients even though we are still early in the design phase. Just like any Macintosh software, it plays nice with others.
