How to set incoming DWG settings

Incoming DWG settings & Dialogs:

1 – Translation Space:
Paper space and model space is the two primary spaces in which AutoCAD objects reside. Paper space is used for creating a finished layout for printing or plotting, as opposed to drafting or design work. Model space is used for creating and editing the drawing. Objects created in Paper Space are visible only in Paper Space. Objects in Model Space can only be edited in Model Space. The Paper Space button will be dimmed for drawings that do not use Paper Space. See manual for additional information.
Model Space: An AutoCAD mode used for creating and editing the drawing.
Paper Space: An AutoCAD mode used for creating a finished layout for printing or plotting.

2 – Bounds:
Limits: In most drawings, Limits are defaulted to 9X12, however this default may be incorrect for the AutoCAD drawing that you are attempting to open. Also, nothing in AutoCAD forces the AutoCAD user to set the limits correctly before sending the file.
Extents: Using extents and reading an E-size drawing at some even scale factor is probably the safest
way to read a drawing into PowerCADD, provided the AutoCAD drawing doesn’t have an object way off
the page. In this case the AutoCAD user must reset the Limits of the drawing to the area that contains the
most data and send the drawing again.

3 – Set Scale:
If the drawing contains a scale in the title block, this scale should be used during translation. Unfortunately the drawing must be translated once to determine if an intended scale exists. If no scale exists in the block, the translator will guess at the scale based on the paper size.

4 – Fit to Page: Will fit drawing to a pre-set page size in PowerCADD.

5 – Page Size: Let’s you set the paper size in PowerCADD.

6 – Assign Line Weights to colors (settings): Let’s you map colors to line weights and line weights to colors.

7 – Disable Layer color Attributes: Will disable the Layer Color Attributes that were set in the AutoCAD drawing.

8 – Explode Block to original Layers: This option will un-group objects and places them on the layer on which they were created.

9 – Delete off page objects: This option will delete off page objects that may confuse the extents of the drawing.
