Q: What is the difference between PowerCADD and PowerDraw?

A: PowerCADD is a native Power Macintosh application. It has been accelerated to take advantage of the raw speed of the PPC. While PowerDraw works on all of the Macintoshes (680x0 and PPC's), it has not been accelerated to take advantage of the PPC's features

Q: My office runs both Power Macs and 680X0 Macs, does that mean that I need to use only PowerDraw so the files can be read by both machines?

A: No, the file formats in PowerDraw 5.0, PowerDraw 6.0, PowerCADD 1.0 and PowerCADD 2.0 are the same. PowerCADD 3.0 and 4.0 can read all of these files, but must be saved as a PD6 Document in order for earlier versions to read. This also applies to Libraries created in PowerCADD 3.0 and 4.0. In order for them to be accessible in earlier versions, they must be saved as a PD6 Library.
