Re: OS Compatibility

James,

Best option is to buy an Intel Mac with Mojave on eBay. Try to get one with a SSD or Fusion drive.

PowerCADD only uses a single thread, so multi-cores count for nothing.

I’m still on High Sierra with a SSD. Startup is about one second.

Re: WildTools Developments

Minor screwup. First upload did not include Doors & Windows. If you’re missing this, just download it again. It’s now included.

Re: WildTools Developments

I have just uploaded a new copy of WildTools 10.6. In PowerCADD, select WildTools Updates from the Help menu. This will take you to a web page for WildTools 10.6. Click on Download WildTools Development Version link. Recent changes: Thicken Tool—WildTools 3D Thicken Tool—WildTools 3D Perspective Thi...

Re: Clarification-the future of PowerCadd

There is a famous book called “The Mythical Man-Month” by Frederick Brooks who led the IBM 360 operating system development team. It was written to explain why software takes so long to develop. In it, he explains “the birthing of a child takes nine months, no matter how many women are assigned to t...

Re: Clarification-the future of PowerCadd

Well, I’m only 28, but I can’t help but noticing that my daughters are now older than me. Oldest daughter Sara asked me to do something to insure WildTools will go on. I always do what Sara tells me to... So I’ve appointed Derek Dubout to take over WildTools if I ‘pass’. I’ve given him all the sourc...

Re: WildTools Developments

I’ve just finished updating the Thicken tool to produce Beziers instead of polygons from arcs, circles, etc.

Next I’m going to work on the Clip, Combine and Union tools to do the same. Nothing for you to download just yet, but it’s progress.

Re: Dashed lines

Morrie,

As I recall, the gaps have to be more than 1pt because, believe it or not, it’s a limit of QuickDraw.

You can find any number of dashed lines in the StyleTools palette.

Your WildTools is five years old.

Re: Dashed lines

Morrie,

The dashes are all there but the gaps in the dashes are so small they disappear.

Try using the Dash Adjuster tool in WildTools to fix this.

Re: What do you want?

Peter,

What version of PowerCADD are you on? From your description, it sounds like PC6 on a PPC machine.

You would not experience any of these things with the current versions of PC/WT, and the things you are asking for were done a long, long time ago.
