At some point, the ability to open some early files was eliminated in PC9 because it was not possible to compile PC9 with these. I have an old iMac here and I can probably open them on this. Important that you Zip the files before emailing them.

Re: Opening old files
Maybe give me a call. I can put you in touch with a user in North Carolina who still has a G5 PowerMac and PowerCADD 6.

Re: Gradient Thicken
Morrie,
I’ll bet you’ll get better results if you use the WT Parallel Offset tool.

Re: Gradient Thicken
You can rotate the angle with the mouse. Suggest you read the documentation for the tool. Page 236. It is all explained very clearly.

Re: WildTools Developments
I have just uploaded a new copy of WildTools 10.6. In PowerCADD, select WildTools Updates from the Help menu. This will take you to a web page for WildTools 10.6. Click on Download WildTools Development Version link. Recent changes: Nuts & Bolts Changed drawing of 3D threads from polygons to Beziers...

Re: PowerCADD Future
Charles,
You can download the current shipping versions of PC/WT from www.engsw.com, but then quickly update WildTools from WildTools Updates in the Help Menu in PowerCADD.

Re: WildTools Developments
Charles, I talked to David Kropp at FormZ on Monday. He has talked about a “WildTools for FormZ” and got me a SDK, but it would be too much for me to learn a new programming language. I only admit to being 28, but…” They will be working on an upgraded set of 2D tools, and he has the source code for ...

Re: Mojave VM on an M1 Mac
I’m not at all discouraged. No way I’m going to another program or stop working on WildTools. Right now I’m fighting with 3D Threads for Nuts & Bolts. Maybe five years from now I might envy running on a new machine, but right now I don’t begin to care. PowerCADD has always been fast, but I’m on High...

Re: OS Compatibility
James,
Best option is to buy an Intel Mac with Mojave on eBay. Try to get one with a SSD or Fusion drive.
PowerCADD only uses a single thread, so multi-cores count for nothing.
I’m still on High Sierra with a SSD. Startup is about one second.

Re: WildTools Developments
Minor screwup. First upload did not include Doors & Windows. If you’re missing this, just download it again. It’s now included.
