object fill with a hole

Post by Lester Tobias » Fri Jul 22, 2022 5:53 pm

So I can't figure out how to generate an object fill with a void in the middle (like a donut).

Any suggestions out there?

Thanks.

You have to make an edge that runs from the outside of the donut to the inside hole. Now typically PowerCadd will close the shape if you click on the same point, so you have to offset one of the edges when you are placing the polygon points, and after the shape closes you can move the points on top of each other.

Option two — draw the inside and outside holes separately then use the paint bucket to fill the space and it will create the polygon for you.

This for sure. I always do all my linework separate from fills.
